I was really excited for this stop and it was everything I expected. They were so cute and funny. They'd chirp when they wanted another peanut. They'd chase after peanuts. The staff was very kind. The peanuts were $1 per bag with plenty in the bag. Ice pops for 96¢ (perfect if heading into the Badlands on a hot summer afternoon). Two clean bathrooms inside the store also. Great stop for 15-30 minutes. Note - Watch Your Step!!!
The people working here are extremely nice. If you want to feed the Prairie dogs, it only cost a dollar for a bag of food. You get a good amount of food for the price too. The animals are friendly and will eat right out of your hand. It's a great place to stop either before or after visiting the Badlands! I highly recommend this place!

This is a nice little quaint gift shop where they let you feed peanuts to the prairie dog so you can really get up close pictures
Was a highlight of our trip (believe it or not.) My two sons, 11 and 19 years old, enjoyed feeding the prairie dogs. Be still and patient and they'll take the peanuts right from your fingers. My only complaint is they should really think about putting up a wall because the prairie dog towns extend into the gravel parking lot.
